In an attrition filled race, vApex Racing Group - Green took top honors in the penultimate round of the West Season. Drivers David Jaques and Mikey Grems took their second win in a row this year and extends their lead in both the Team and Driver Championships as we head to Texas for the final round at Circuit of the Americas.

Pole sitter and pace setter in the first half of the race, NKH Racing, had to withdraw around the half way mark in the race from mechanical problems for their second driver. Setting the fastest lap of the race and leading 34 laps early on, they seemed to be the pace of the field.

Upon NKH Racing's retirement, vApex Racing's championship rivals Black Adder Motorsport took the lead. After leading 22 laps, the team hit so trouble in the second half of the race which took them out of contention for taking the fight to vApex Racing who went on to lead 99 of the 169 laps completed.

Clube do Volante broke through to claim their first podium of 2016. Rodrigo Improta da Silva and Jefferson Padovani managed to stay out of the pits and plug away for a fairly uneventful race. The good result moved the team up to fourth in points heading into the final round of the West Season.

vApex Racing Group Green take an eleven point lead going into the final round of the West Season.A fourth place finish at Circuit of the Americas will clinch the team the championship for the West Season. As long as the team meets the requirements to score points at COTA, they will take the lead of the Overall Championship heading into the series final at Road Atlanta.
