As we approach the final round of the Spring Season, two teams have clinched their automatic entry for the Fall Season and only one has clinched the championship in their class.

In the GTC class, GermanSimRacing.de #255 has clinched their championship as well as the first of nine automatic entries into the '17 Fall Season. The German duo of Marvin Hanke and Marco Briechle have not only been the class act of the GTC class, but of the entire field capturing three wins and a second place finish in the first four rounds. As long as the #255 finishes P8 in the final round, the German duo will bring home the #1 plate for GermanSimRacing.de to run in the Fall Season.

It is still mathematically possible for SimRC.de Strawberry and Black Adder Motorsport #69 to not finish in the top three in GTC, both teams would need some terrible luck to get bumped down to P4 in the championship.

While the GT class has yet to have a repeat winner, it shows how strong the competition is in the class. However it has also been the most trouble stricken class in the championship. Amazingly enough, Black Adder Motorsport #66 is at the top of the class and has yet to capture a win on the season. They have managed though to give themselves a guaranteed top three finish in the championship securing the second of the nine automatic entries into the Fall Season. A P14 finish at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park would clinch the championship for them and reaching 50% of the class race distance locks their automatic entry spot in for the Fall Season.

As if GT teams Hammer Down Racing and AOD Racing didn't have enough on their plate to begin with tied in points for the final automatic entry into the Fall Season, they both have four other teams within 7 points of them trying to bump both teams for the third and final automatic entry spot.

In the Prototype class the top three spots are still up for grabs with the championship in a dead heat between Fusion Racing and SimatoK eSport. Both teams have two wins, a second place finish and an eighth place finish. Samba Racing Team sits in the third and final spot for the automatic entry but Team Vikings Mjölnir are looking to finish the season strong coming off of a podium finish at Spa. If Samba Racing Team can finish 6th or higher in the final round, they will clinch a top three finish in the championship.

With the final round set for the high speed and unforgiving Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, the high temperatures should make for slippery low grip racing surface. On a track that almost always ends your race as soon as you drop a wheel, managing the traffic of 50 other cars with low grip is going to make patience a crucial factor in the final round. While no one wants it to happen we know some teams are going to head home with a written off car. The question is though, will those written off cars contain one of our contenders?
