In a few short days, the final round of the 2016 DGFX WeatherTech Sportscar Series will come to a close at Road Atlanta. Throughout the year there have been ups and downs for many teams but all are looking forward to the last race of the season.

In the latest article we take a look at the confirmed and possible entries for this final round of the championship in both classes

Prototype (11 cars)

Black Adder Motorsports (Confirmed 2 cars: #68, #69) - While West Season runner-ups, the #68 Black Adder Motorsports team is poised to bring their "A" game to the season finale to try and capture the Overall Championship. The #69 entry is looking to capture their second podium of the 2016 season this weekend. With the plethora of drivers within the Black Adder Motorsports organization, the team has called on Sven Cammaerts and Brandon Guarascia to pilot the #68 and Fraser Williamson and Chris Hendrich to pilot the #69.

Club HAM Team (Confirmed 1 car: #44) - Club HAM Team are ready to go for the season finale at Road Atlanta. While they haven't show podium pace, the team have captured one top five in 2016 and are looking to at least repeat their personal best in the 6 hour race. Season regulars of Surgio Durelli and Oscar Farrera are expected to be behind the wheel.

Clube do Volante (Confirmed 1 car: #111) - The Brazilian team are looking for another great showing in the 6 hour race as they were able to capture a podium finish in the previous 6 hour race at Road Atlanta. While it is unconfirmed, it is assumed that season regulars of Rodrigo Improta da Silva and Jefferson Padovani will be piloting the #111 Corvette DP.

NKH Racing (Possible 1 car: #93) - The UK based team which have been partial entries all year long are expected, but not guaranteed, to be on the grid if both drivers are able to make it come race day. While they are not in contention by any means for the championship, they have shown front runner pace in all of the races they have participated in. Niklas Hjelm and Jonathan Smith6 will be behind the wheel should the car take the grid.

Online-SimRacing.de (Confirmed 1 car: #992) - The German team will be fielding two cars (one in each class) at Road Atlanta in the 6 hour Season Finale. Poised to match their season best of another podium finish, the German trio of Marcel Mursa, Marcel Unger, and Jakob Lehmann will be piloting the teams Prototype entry.

Revolution Racing (Possible 1 car: #003) - As with NKH Racing, The #003 entry of Revolution Racing are not in any contention for championships but have won both races the team has participated in. If the car makes the grid on Saturday, expect them to be up at the front with Sam Rosamond, Ross Bygrave2 and Elliot Skeer behind the wheel.

vApex Racing Group (Confirmed 3 cars: #33, #99, #999) - Fielding the most cars in one class throughout the field, vApex Racing Group looks to have the best shot at good team results. With 2 wins and 6 podiums combined between the three cars, the team is looking to add to the astonishing results. The #99 entry currently sits 1st in class 8 points ahead of second for the Overall Championship and a podium finish will clinch the championship. Driving duties will be handled by Russell Klaesson, Kurt Gross and Leonardo Corti in the #33, David Jaques and Mikey Grems in the #99, and Chuck Chambliss and Kevin Linden in the #999.

Vendaval Simracing (Possible 1 car: #13) - While no word of the hard "yes" given by the team, it is expected that the #13 Corvette DP will be on the grid come Saturday. With one podium in 2016 and both the East and West seasons showing struggles at first but improvement in finishing position each and every race, the Juan E Lopez, Tatsuro Hashimoto and Matti Kaidesoja entrie could be the sneaky entry of the race.

GTD (12 cars: 5 Audi, 3 BMW, 4 Mercedes AMG)

49 Motorsports (Confirmed 1 car: #49 BMW) - The West Season Champions will be back to try and capture the GTD Overall Championship for 2016. As the only driver to compete in every single race of the 2016 season so far, Dexter Castro is expected to be back in the car with co-driver Jere Jänis at Road Atlanta. If the team finishes in second place, they will clinch the championship.

Bad Cactus Racing (Confirmed 1 car: #95 AMG) - While mathematically not out of the championship hunt, the #95 entry of Bad Cactus Racing are looking for their 4th podium since the start of the West Season. Lacking the pace to contend for victories, the team has always been in the fight for podium finishes. While it is expected to see Ed Voras and Ryan Wallace behind the wheel, it is unsure if the team will dip into their remaining drivers of Brandon Egercic or Jason Grace for their 3rd driver in the car.

Black Adder Motorsports (Confirmed 2 cars: #66 AMG, #67 AMG) - Both of the #66 and #67 Mercedes AMG GT3 entries for Black Adder Motorsports are looking for a top 5 finish in this weekend's finale. With only one podium finish between the two in 2016, a top 3 will definitely feel like a win for the team. Ernie Ludwig, Elliot Dorrough and Matt Richard will be piloting the #66 entry with Marc Torres and Rob Dorrough in the #67.

Blue Line Motorsports (Confirmed 1 car: #57 Audi) - Missing the last 3 races to injuries and other issues, the #57 Audi is looking to finish off the season in good form in Georgia. It is expected that some combination of drivers from Clark Archer, Shane Norton and Brian Luyster will be in the car.

Braxton Motorsports (Confirmed 1 car: #84 BMW) - Trying to get their first podium of 2016, Braxton Motorsports will again be piloted by Benjamin Fischer and Robert Cancian. Both drivers are consistent driver's that can stay out of trouble but will need some unfortunate luck from their competitors to get their first podium on 2016.

Hammer Down Racing (Confirmed 1 car: #22 Audi) - One of the fastest Audi's in the field especially in recent races, Hammer Down Racing are looking to grab their 3rd win of the season. Matt Quinn and Paul Darling will be behind the wheel in the 6 hour enduro.

Online-SimRacing.de (Confirmed 1 car: #991 BMW) - 49 Motorsport's main competitor for the championship, Online-SimRacing.de are planning on another incident free race. With one victory and two podiums in the last three races, the German trio of Wolfgang Wildenauer, Stefan Waldherr, and Jan-Philipp Wied are looking for another good result which will hopefully capture the championship for the team.

Sweet Spot Racing (Possible 1 car: #81 AMG) - The Austrian based team has the fastest Mercedes in the field. DGFX is unsure on if the team will make the oversea trip to Braselton, Georgia and what their driver line up would be out of Matthias Keck, Martin Heller, David Kroell, and Marcus Ager. If the team does make the trip, expect to see them in the top 3 for most of the race.

Team Heusinkveld Engineering (Possible 1 car: #78 Audi) - The most successful Audi in the field with two wins and three podiums, Team Heusinkveld Engineering are always front runners in every race they have participated in. Either victory ending or race ending incidents have struck the team in more races then they would like which brings cause for concern on their consistency at the unforgiving Road Atlanta. Christian Kiewitt and Henry Groß are expected to be the drivers come race day if the team is on the grid.

vApex Racing Group (Confirmed 1 car: #333 Audi) - The only GT entry out of the vApex Racing Group's camp, the #333 Audi is headed into the final round looking to enjoy the final race of the season. With trouble from the drivers Andy Banfield, J.C. Arnold, and Richard McClure about finding the right setup in the West Season, all who will be driving are looking to enjoy their final race in DGFX of 2016.

Work In Progress Racing (Confirmed 1 car: #04 Audi) - With issues off the track keeping the #04 Audi away in recent rounds it is unsure what driver combination of Bob Grant, John Dykstra, AJ Allen or Matthew Cottingham are expected to be behind the wheel for the final round. As with Black Adder Motorsport's GTD entries, Work In Progress Racing are looking to enjoy the final round and hopefully capture their first top 3 of the 2016 season.
